Latin name: Mentha arvensis

- Widely recognized for its cooling benefits, peppermint may provide a cooling effect to the skin and is used in a variety of skin and haircare products.
- This Peppermint Essential Oil may nourish the skin and hair, and be beneficial as an insect-repellent.
- Cruelty free, vegan friendly, no parabens, no microbeads, no GMO, no SLS. Packaged using sustainable paper and cardboard. Kind to you and the environment.
There are many varieties of mint but only the essential oils extracted from Mentha piperita ( a spearmint and watermint hybrid cross) and Mentha arvensis (Wild Mint), has the sharp, crisp and familiar aroma we associate with the term peppermint.
Wild Mint is smaller than common peppermint with lilac flowers, a sweeter and less pungent aroma and a high menthol content. Once our Wild Mint has been dementholised the remaining essential oil contains around 45% menthol, but still smells exactly like you would expect. The menthol content is often removed to make sure the oil is stable at room temperature. For a more full-bodied aroma and further aromatherapy uses, please see our Peppermint Piperita oil.
